All branches have openings for EXPERIENCED technicians in our industry. An experienced technician has worked on commercial cooking and/or refrigeration equipment for at least one year. Refrigeration technicians must also have a journeyman’s license.
Training for Experienced Techs
Our current program is designed for techs that have some mechanical, electrical, and or refrigeration background. There are three phases of the program that can last for various time periods based on an individual’s learning curve and past experience. The trainee rides with EMR certified technical trainers throughout the training period and is taught on the job as well as through discussions in the truck between jobs. There is a matrix of skills and knowledge that must be covered and mastered in order to move through each phase. After completing the three phases the trainee is prepared to go out on the road on their own. There are also in-house classes as well as factory training classes that a trainee will attend throughout their career with EMR. Not only is the training encouraged, it is required per their PRD (job description). EMR prides itself on service provided through well-trained quality technicians. In order to meet and maintain that quality, we continually improve our technicians´ abilities through training and education.
